Responsibilities

As a Cloud SME - Cloud Computing Consultant Technical Specialist, you will support a joint customer Program Office responsible for acquiring the future GEOINT Ground Architecture that will provide the user community with capabilities in a modular, open architecture that provides global, persistent, real-time surveillance and activity-based intelligence information. This position supports a hybrid agile process with the Government as the overall system integrator. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies, cloud computing architectures, and related IT, infrastructure, and security subject matter.
  • Work with and support a range of stakeholders, from developers to system engineers and integrators, to component-level program managers and senior program office leadership.
  • Facilitate information sharing and coordination with technical subject matters experts and developers across the program to help define and optimize the hybrid cloud architecture(s) and environment(s), and assist with the planning, programming, and execution of related cloud development efforts, migration, and integration activities.
  • Assist with shaping and translating high-level strategies, priorities, and requirements into system requirement specifications, and will work across the program’s other system engineering disciplines to recommend and develop design solutions and lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
  • Advise on related standards, practices, and procedures, and assist the customer with developing, refining, and/or adopting its business operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Assist the program with assessing system-level performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Research various technical topics, review and provide input on a wide range of technical artifacts and promote the understanding and adoption of cloud services and technologies.
  • Act as a key contributor on a collaborative, fast-paced, highly skilled, and geographically distributed system development team supporting a critical mission.  

The position may be called on to perform assessment and consultation on various technical topics, processes and products as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
  • Must possess and be able to maintain an active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services and account management
  • Experience with cloud acquisition and migration planning and execution
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and artifacts, including requirements management and related traceability tools and constructs, architecture diagrams, and IVVT processes
  • Understanding of programmatic processes, including Configuration Management, Risk, Readiness, and Schedules
  • Strong customer engagement and outreach skills
  • Strong representational, oral, and written communications skills, including the ability to produce clear, logical, and concise products

Desired:

  • Knowledge of SAFe or Agile frameworks
  • Experience with commercial Atlassian tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA)
  • Knowledge of / experience with SW development, SW/HW delivery and decommissioning, infrastructure and Information Assurance requirements
  • Experience with hosting of large, complex datasets, and related algorithms and capabilities
  • Working knowledge of other cloud platforms to include Azure
