Responsibilities

The Desktop Solutions System Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) position supports the Intelligence Community (IC) client's Communications Directorate, Digital Workspace Solutions Group (DSG).  Using a technical advisory approach, develops and/or evaluates requirements, end-to-end desktop solutions, systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Evaluates requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Applying knowledge and experience with desktop systems to provide valued support and advice.
  • Reviewing, reporting, and tracking requirements that support DSG initiatives.
  • Preparing materials for and supporting review boards.
  • Assisting the client to maintain and manage group HW/SW budgets for the Application Systems including licenses, dates, and costs to procure HW/SW.
  • Providing recommendations to improve solutions and outcomes.
  • Interface with service providers, client, and other groups and technical personnel.
  • Developing high level product development strategies.
  • Coordinating development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product/solution.
  • Acting as customer advisor and providing support for solution development activities and to understand and shape requirements.
  • Working with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop solutions.
  • Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability.
  • Reviewing test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the requirements and may participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Qualifications

  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in science or engineering.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly.
  • 5-7 years of experience providing desktop solutions to large organizations
  • Experience in modernizing desktop solutions, workstation, voice, and video teleconferencing technologies.
  • Experience with establishing virtual servers.
  • Experience with thick and thin client devices.
  • Experience with classified and unclassified desktop solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
