Responsibilities

The Readiness Systems Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) supports the Intelligence Community (IC) client's Communications (COMM) Directorate's COMM Architecture and Systems Engineering (CASE) organization.  The Readiness SETA works with director and group level leaders, service providers, and different groups with the enterprise to coordinate and monitor readiness activities and events throughout the engineering lifecycle. Readiness event's that may need to be monitored include but are not limited to: System Requirement Reviews (SRR's), Design Readiness Reviews (PDR's/CDR's), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR's).  Readiness events that are actively and directly supported include, but are not limited to: Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR's), Operational Acceptance Reviews (OAR's), and COMM Implementation Readiness Reviews (CIRR).  The Readiness SETA receives, assesses and validates performance and quality artifacts to support risk and readiness reviews, and aggregates data into integrated briefing packages to support enterprise level readiness events.  Maintains positive relationships with, and coordinates evolving needs with different groups and offices to ensure preparedness for events so goals can be met.  The Readiness SETA responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring of major events affecting deliveries within the COMM ecosystem. 
  • Aggregating data and preparing briefings to support the monitoring of readiness events and presenting status at review meetings.
  • Keeping leadership aware of statuses related major events.
  • Participating in different forums and review boards. 
  • Coordinating readiness needs across the COMM ecosystem.  
  • Engaging with other SETA's and SMEs for the purposes of understanding and coordination. 
  • Works with director and group level leaders, service providers, and groups within the enterprise.   
  • Use JSMART, HelpNow and other tools to track changes/updates as needed.  Maintains positive relationships with mission partners and coordinates evolving needs with different groups and offices to ensure goals and timelines can be met with an ever-expanding catalog of services.     
  • Coordinating and gathering information to accurately document and portray readiness events.
  • Engaging other SMEs as necessary.

Qualifications

  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in science or engineering.
  • 5-7 years of experience with readiness activities.
  • Knowledge and experience with the IC customer's System Engineering and Integration processes.
  • NRO experience preferable
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
